DVR Recording Too Long

Twice in this past week, I found that the DVR was recording way past the end of the selected program.

Days of Our Lives is scheduled to be recorded every day.  It is broadcast on NBC for an hour, starting at 1PM.  One day I found it was still recording the show at about 4PM.  I looked closer and saw that it would record until 8:02 AM the next day!

Law & Order Special Victims Unit is scheduled to be recorded.  It is broadcast by NBC for an hour, starting at 9PM. Last Thursday I found that it was going to record until 1AM the next day!

I have never before had this issue.  Any thoughts as to why it is occurring now?

You are not the only one..Meet the Press recorded an additional 16 hours. I had another 1 hour NBC show that recorded 4 hours.

Yea Law and Order SVU recorded for 4 hours. I thought at first it was combining Law and Order Organized crime since it was a cross over but that had it's own 1 hour recording.

I had the same issue on some NBC shows.  Mine was the local news at 4pm.  I can't remember which day this week.

Note that me and all  the others posting about this issue are referencing shows on NBC .... a Comcast company!

Same here. Multiple shows all NBC. L&O SVU, Days & there was something else but can’t remember. Had I not noticed it would have put me over the amount allowed to record and would have either deleted shows or not recorded upcoming.

My show was CBS Sunday Morning.  It runs for 1 1/2 hours but it was still recording a subsequent show 2 hours later.  Is there any answer?

Sadly, we're still not seeing any answers. My shows were on CBS -  2 different 60 minute recordings ended up recording for 3 hours (NCIS Los Angeles was one - I already forget the other). And I also had the NBC Law & Order SVU taping for 3 hours & caught that one almost at end. This happened to me once or twice before in the past 2 weeks but I don't recall what network or shows. Seeing how Comcast has already messed me up by changing the recording limits to just 6 recordings no matter how many DVRS you have, if something records longer than its supposed to, I wonder if it's bumping off one of my other recordings. I already have recording conflicts that I have to ck on every few days. I can honestly (continue to) say that if my HOA didn't have such a great pkg with them, I'd have gone to AT&T years ago. I honestly just can't afford to willingly change.
