That has been going on for a couple of years now. Once upon a time it work the way it was suppose to. Then an update was done in October of 2021 or 2022 and it fouled things up. It starts too early and ends too soon. I believe the Xfinity internal clock is messed up by about 1 minute. Apparently there is no one at Xfinity that is smart enough to fix it.
@XfinityShawn It is happening on all shows being recorded. I have also noticed that the time on our DVR box is about 50 seconds ahead of the time that shows on the guide screen
Hey margene1636, thanks for getting back to us and letting us know. Since the time is off, the box may just need to be resynced with our network. I'm not showing a known issue currently going on for that. When you get a chance, can you send us a direct message?
To send a direct message:

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it

My Comcast DVR does not allow me to select a start or stop time. I can only use the Guide button on my remote to select the program that I want to record. Several programs indicate that they start or stop before the hour or a few minutes after the hour. The DVR is unable to recognize this information.
When you are in the Guide and have the program set to record, you can be on that program in the guide, click the info button and then you have a menu that says things like Episodes ... there is one that says record options - click on that - you can set start and stop times -- be sure to click confirm when finished.
