DVR recording audio drops in and out on TV Box

DVR recording audio drops in and out on TV Box. My cable box updates and restarts daily. We do not experience audio issues while watching live shows or on demand shows. Audio only drops in and out while watching DVR recordings. I downloaded Xfinity streaming APP to my cell phone, watched same recording and experienced zero audio issues. Please advise as this has become beyond frustrating.

Hey there, @user_k1sfod, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your DVR concerns. I can understand how frustrating this would be, especially since it’s isolated to DVR playback on the TV Box. Since the same recordings play correctly in the Xfinity Stream app, have you noticed whether the audio issue happens on every DVR recording or only certain recordings/channels?

I have the same problem with recordings of some TV shows during playback on a Flex Streaming box.

This is not the expienince we want for anyone, mhoefgen. And I can definitely understand how frustrating this would be. Does the issue seem to happen during a specific show or program?

The worst show is The Voice. The audio drops for 1-4 seconds at a time and it happens many times during the show.
FYI: I called support and they reset the Flex box remotely (which I already did), then they claimed it was fixed and hung up.

Thank you for those details. I can just imagine the frustration behind TV programs cutting in and out.

I'm curious if this is happening on multiple devices, or just the flex box. Here are a few questions that will help narrow down the source of the issue:

1. How many devices is this happening on?

2. Have you tried directly on the website? Link: https://www.xfinity.com/stream/

3. Is it a specific set of channels where the issue persist, or more random?

We watch recorded shows in the family room. No other devices (flex or otherwise) are involved.

I have not tried watching recordings from the website.

The Voice is the most notable and it is on channel 105. Another show that has audio drops is also 105.

Thank you for being our eyes and ears on the other end, mhoefgen - To help narrow this down, we’d like to see if the issue is isolated to your family room device or is more widespread. When you have a chance, could you test a recording through the website and let us know if it’s impacted as well?

I'm experiencing audio and picture problems on my DVR recorded playbacks. Frozen screens, voice distortions and skipped scenes.
