Dvr not recording show

I have my dvr set to record a sports show everyday and to record new or repeat episodes. When the info line for the show says “live” instead of “new” or “repeat” however, it does not record my show. How do I fix this?

To clarify, the info line you're referring to is like the little blue box in this image, underneath the show's title? 

Highlight the desired action from the options list at the bottom of the Guide menu screen. Options include Episodes, Record, Other Times and Series Info. Record is highlighted.

 

It sounds like perhaps the "live" event might not be recognized by the X1 system as part of the series, it sees it as a onetime event, and so the recording would need to be set up for live events separately. It sounds similar to this thread, Formula 1 and IndyCar ignoring series scheduling, correct?
