DVR Fan Noise 24/7 - PX013ANM



My PX013ANM DVR has a very noisy fan that won't turn off. There are several closed threads on this same issue:


In my case, I went to the Xfinity store to exchange a very old and slow X1. I asked about the possibility of getting a newer 4K box, but they made it sound like there weren't many (or any) available, and they gave me the PX013ANM. As other users have mentioned, the only way to stop the fan on the PX013ANM is to disconnect the power.


@ComcastChe has had this DVR and knows about its fan noise issue, so I am tagging him for assistance.

@xfinitykatie I just went through 7 hours of trying to get a new box that was sent me to work. When it didn't a technician came to my house. He brought a new box and it didn't work either. He pulled a THIRD box out of his truck and that one did work but is VERY NOISY! I'd like to know how I can receive one of the newer 4k boxes with the SSD drive in it. The fan noise can be heard in the next room and down the hallway! Thanks.
