DVR deleting Recordings after a year

Twice now I have lost maybe 60 movies in the past year. Once in Jul 2022 and now over Christmas I lost another 30. I am paying for recordings on your DVR and they should remain until I delete, or I run out of space. I have never gone over 45% full. I am very upset right now because some of these movies are older and I cannot get back. There should be NO "1 Year"! Once the DVR is full that is different. You should also send out a message to us letting us know you are deleting. Not happy at all with Xfinity!

This is also happening to me. Shows being deleted and I have plenty of space. What a DVR good for , why do I pay for it if you can't watch what you want when you want.

VERY DISSATISFIED in TN. ALSO UNHAPPY I WAS NOT TOLD THIS WOULD BE HAPPENING. I HAVE BEEN YOUR CUSTOMER, NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT FOR OVER 30 YEARS

Thank you for sharing your feedback in the Forums. I understand your concern, as I too have lost recordings that don't come around too often.

It is true, that as of now, the retention space of DVR recordings is up to one full year:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-dvr-overview - search under "Stored Recordings/Keep your Recordings"

I will of course forward along your sentiment about this. Our leadership has put into place a system where we can forward the concerns of our customers, with hopes of seeing a change. I can testify that I have seen some of those changes come to fruition.

I no longer work for Comcast.
