different types of screensavers missing

About a week ago, I noticed that the animal-themed screensaver I had selected switched to landscapes. When I went into Device Settings to reset it, I noticed that the different types from which to choose is no longer available.  Will Comcast/Xfinity be restoring this feature?

@user_2fdab6 That is a great question! I did check my box as well and that option is not currently appearing for me either however I am not able to locate anything confirming its permanent removal. Changing the screen saver is still an option shown here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-screen-saver

 

I do know that during this time of the year, we do like to make updates to features, I would be happy to check back with you at a later date to see if the article has been updated or if your option has returned if you would like.

Hi Amanda, Thank you for responding to my post.  As Bruce mentioned below, the link you provided is not valid (404 Error), and while the link Bruce included is valid, there is a discrepancy between the info provided therein and the actual box, as there currently doesn't seem to be an option to switch between and choose from different screen saver types.  I would appreciate if you could find out whether this option will be restored.  Looking forward to hearing back from you...

@user_2fdab6 Thanks for checking, and indeed Bruce has the correct link! We didn't locate any information on this being permanent, and the options do change during the holidays. From everything we checked this is due to the season, and we'll see our options to personalize again soon. Thanks for keeping a detailed eye on things, and count on the forums for help.

Your link actually points to https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/x1/different-types-of-screensavers-missing/X1%20screen%20saver%20options, which isn't valid and results in a 404 Not Found page. If you were trying to post https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-screen-saver, please fix your link!

My girls and I are so upset over the change in screen saver and how we can't chose the animal option. Our favorite time of the month was when the animals changed and seeing what cute animals they chose for the month. Very upset that this is no longer an option. We are also upset that you can only record things on your DVR for up to a year now. Why only a year? Why cant it stay until we chose to delete. Not happy with the changes xfinity. NOT HAPPY!!

Can you also request they change the DVR settings? We are disappointed in the fact that we can now only record things and save it for a year. It use to be able to be saved until we decided to delete it.

Can you clarify if and when the “screen saver type” option will be restored as the original poster indicated? I also do not have that option and it defaults to landscapes. Landscapes are nice but prefer the animals setting.

As of today, Feb 9, 2024, I have absolutely zero screen savers to choose from a list. When the tv goes into screensaver mode, all I get is a black screen with the temp at the bottom left corner and a few barebones tips from time to time. What’s going on?

It is 03 / 02 / 2024. We haven't had the screensaver option since before October of last year. We have reset the box and everything. It's just gone and defaults to landscapes. I'm beginning to think they are not bringing this option back.
