Connecting X1 set top box AX013ANM connect via ethernet (for cable tv).

can I connect to the X1 set top (dvr) box model AX013ANM connect via ethernet (for cable tv).  If not, can I get a box that will work for that?

VWolfe Great question. The X1 DVR model AX013ANM does have an Ethernet port, but it isn’t used for delivering the cable TV signal. X1 cable TV service still requires a live coax connection to function properly. The Ethernet port is primarily for limited network functions and does not replace coax for TV service.

@XfinityAirelle

I understand that the wireless box does not have a DVR and that I'd need to keep the X1 DVR box as well to keep that functionality.

Is that right?

How does the wireless box connect to the X1 DVR box - is that through coax - with the wireless box having a coax out line?

Not sure I want to have to have 2 boxes but I do want to understand how it would work.

@VWolfe Our wireless boxes have cloud DVR, You would not need the X1 DVR box, and you would have to return that box to swap it for a wireless box. The wireless box is connected to the TV itself, and you do not have a coax line connected to the wireless box. Our wireless box streams content over your Wi-Fi service. It connects to your TV via HDMI.
