Confused on X1 "cloud" options

I'm a little confused on X1 cloud options. I see when I prepare to setup an account I can choose 20, 150 or 300 hours etc etc X1 CLOUD UPGRADE.

If I choose 20hrs does this mean all I can record on my X1 DVR for in-home TV watching is 20 hours of recordings or is that 20hrs relating only to streaming to outside devices on my phone or iPad which I never will do?

Doesn't the X1 DVR also have an internal hard-drive?  I have no need for "cloud recording" assuming I can still record the normal 150 hrs (or whatver it is) on my DVR.

Depending on which X1 DVR you have, it may just limit the cloud copy to the latest 20 hours unless you are paying the $10 DVR fee. I think you may even be required to pay the fee if you have a physical DVR.

But is it possible to get a DVR that is "cloud" only?

I've just ordered a new TV service yesterday, and I like what I read about the 150 hour internal hard drive. I would be canceling and returning all equiptment if I receive a "cloud" only DVR, as all the literature I read states that the DVR has an internal hard drive.

@Rustyben

You might want to read the question @MrTom44posted once again as your reply wasn't close to what he asked as was the other fellows reply to my OP. @MrTom44  (as well as I)  DO NOT want a "cloud only" DVR.  I have seen Xfinity cloud programs being played back on an X1 DVR and the resposne to the remote buttons is horrendous to say the least.  Sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds for a response to a pause or FF or whatevr.  From my experience it's horrible. He (and I) DO NOT want a "cloud only" DVR and when my orde reads X1 Cloud DVR I need to know what that means especially since I want 4K and I know there is a 4K DVR that has a hard drive as I already have it.  When I  try to "upgrade" my service within my account to extend my contract they want that 4K DVR returned (no idea why) and want to send me an X1 CLOUD DVR.  I need to know exactly what this is. Chattinmg or calling customer "service" they only seem to be able to read scripts.  No idea how to get actual and factual information.

yes that is an option.  Cloud DVR programs are available on your home X1 equipment to view.

what they mean is they will give you xg2 xi3/xid/xi5/xi6 with no DVR in the home. The local store said they are basically removing physical DVRs since they moved the hours to 150 (cloud) and offer to double or more at extra cost. the issue i have with cloud is only audio 2.0 and clunky fast forward 'images'. Cable industry was just freed of demand to use cable cards like our DVRs and XG2s have with 'tuners' while the industry moves to TVip and customer can own their own equipment.  I don't disagree with your thoughts.

@Rustyben  What are they doing for 4K wrt "cloud dvr's" ?  I already have a 4K DVR  (XG1V4 I beleive) and that seems to be the only one that supports 4K at this time from the Xfinity DVR comparison page.

the Xi6 is issued and plays from the cloud DVR. Xi6 is 4k capable.

the cloud DVR nor physical DVR communicate other than to show recordings  that are in the cloud that are not on the home DVR.

Yes, but the Xi6 is wireless and I have no desire to deal with WIFi issues as my router is nowhere near my main living room TV.   So if the Xi6 is what they provide for the "main" cloud DVR if 4K is needed than bye bye Xfinity.

a home DVR is not required but you can use one on request (coax outlet needed).
