Component Video - I need 4 ports or another HDMI port!! Help!!
I have installed a home theater surround sound system to my existing TV. I used the HDMI cable on the back of my cable box and that is great. But my problem is the back of my cable box only has a red and white component video RCA plug for my TV. I want to watch my TV sometimes without turning on my home theater system. But only have two componet video RCA plugs I can not get a good picture on my TV. I need a new cable box with more plugs on the backside of the cable box. I need a cable box that has 4 RCA plugs Red White Green Yellow or another HDMI port. What do I need to do to get my old cable box replaced with newer one?

Your surround sound system is supposed to be connected directly to your television using an HDMI cable. Read the tv and S.S. System manuals!
The television's remote can then switch you between: tv speakers, s.s. system, head-phones; using the tv's menu. Use the only HDMI cable output on Comcast box to connect to your television.

Okay thanks for your help...so I need green, red, and blue components to get hd...because I am currently only getting like 420 or something like that on my TV. I have gold plated RCA plugs at home from my last cable tv box I used when I was with Time Warner Cable. They are Green, Red, Blue. I at least should get 720! My only HDMI port it going to my audio/video reciever. I want to watch tv somtimes with out the reciever on. Is there a optical cable port on the back of my cable box? I will look....

The ONE HDMI port on the back of the cable box IS connected to the backside of my Onkio Reciever! I know how to hook up a system. My problem is I DON'T want to turn on my 1000 watt reciever every time I want to just watch the TV!! The Xfinity X1 cable box has no componet cable outputs for 1080P....as Im getting like 420 resoulution!! I need to have more componet outlets on the back of my cable box for HD video for 1080.

In the settings for the receiver there should be a setting for pass through or stand by pass through which will allow the HDMI signal to pass to the TV when the receiver is in standby mode.
