cloud DVR

Hello Comcast:

Is it possible to transfer a DVRed program from one Comcast/Xfinity account to another if both accounts have "cloud DVR service?"

example; brotherA lives with brotherB and DVRs a program which he likes on brother B's account.

brotherA then moves in with wifeC who has her own account with cloud DVR.

can brotherA transfer the program from  brotherBs account to his new wife'sC account?

thanks you for your time and consideration.

Hi there @user_dbe81b!  Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to Xfinity Support here on our Community Forum with your Cloud DVR inquiry.  We are so glad to hear from you and happy to help in any way that we can.  At this time, any content recorded on a cloud DVR will only be available to the devices associated with the corresponding account.  While you may not be able to share recordings, you are more that welcome to download your recordings to your smart device via the Xfinity Stream app to take with you on the go.  Just recently, I recorded a few movies, downloaded them to my tablet and took them with me to a friend's house, and we watched on a projection screen.  So while you cannot "transfer" from one account to another, you can certainly download to any smart device via our Xfinity Stream app.

hello, thank you for your response, and i have one other small inquiry;
if brotherA has managerial privileges, and purchases a show on brotherB's account,
should he not be able to take that show with him to his new home with wifeC?

He would have access to any purchased content through the Xfinity Stream app using a Manager Profile of brother B's account yes.

The stream app keeps all "purchased" content, but all other service for streaming from the cable subscription would end.

Oh? So, if brotherA purchases a movie on brotherB's account, and brotherB cancels his television , brotherA will still be able to view this purchased content wherever he may be?  but just regular saved content disappears. now, the only thing that bothers me just a little is, that we do actually pay for the service which comcast calls "free" like the content that we DVRed but did not "purchase"  but i understand, that you for the answer, i guess that's teh way it is.

thanks again.

just one other small thing, if you don't mind;

if brotherB purchases content, and then cancels his television account,

will he be able to view this purchased content on streaming app,

provided he keeps his internet account?

thanks again
