I can’t change the input with the remote

On some sets pressing an Xfinity remote's "TV Input" button displays the TV's Input menu, then further presses cycle between the available inputs. Pausing for a few seconds changes to the selected input. But other sets require the user to press other keys to select an input, and/or an Enter or Select or OK key to switch to the new source.

If your set requires a key press other than Input you won't be able to use the X1 remote to change the input. X1 remotes send Enter/Select/OK to cable boxes, but not to TV sets. The only keys sent to TV sets are Input, Volume/Mute, and Power, and the remotes are not "learning" remotes.

Hey @user_tr168r, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. Were you able to get the remote issue resolved? Curious if other functions on the remote are working such as the volume buttons as the remote may need to be paired to the TV before remote TV functions on the remote become operational.

How do you stop it from rolling on the input screen- won’t let you stop on the hdmi you want?

@user_h2hoau Did you try using the arrows and select button in the center of the remote?

That won't work. The arrows and select button on the Comcast/Xfinity remote send a signal to the cable box, not to the TV set, as described above.
