Can Xfinity remote "Channel" button be programmed to only scroll among Favorites?

Hello,

There are a number of questions about this out there, some old and closed threads, but I have not seen a solution to this yet.  I'm hoping I just missed it.  This is something that is an easy fix on DirecTV and I hear also on Dish.  Trying to set this up for my parents for their xfinity setup.

I have the favorites list, but that is sort of useless since when they use the up and down button on their remote, it is still circling through the entire list of channels.  Channels that they don't want to watch, but even more irritating channels they are not subscribed to.

How do I program the up and down channel button to only go through a list of channels they want to watch?

Thanks!

Hey there, @user_476db5, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding accessing your favorite channels! It is so convenient to have all of your favorite networks in one place instead of looking through the larger guide. You will need to filter your guide to show just your favorite channels. Here is a link on how to filter your current guide, https://comca.st/3gOzIza. Let me know if you have any additional questions! We are here to help! :)

@XfinityJeniece thanks for the info, just to be clear I'm looking for the following:

1) Filter a set of channels, let's say Favorite Channels - I got that

2) How do I now connect only this list of Favorite Channels to my Up and Down Channel button.  I want to flip between channels Up and Down and only use that Favorites list.  This is something super easy with DirecTV for example.  I don't want to go to the Guide every time I want to switch a channel.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for those additional details. You would need to access your filtered favorites through the steps listed in that link I provided. That would be the only way to view the guide with your favorites. Here is the step by step:

  1. On the remote, press the Guide button twice to access the Select Your Guide View window. Here you can filter your guide by your preferred set of channels.
  2. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to select your guide view and press OK. Choose from:
    • All Channels
    • Free To Me (shows channels you're entitled to)
    • HD Channels
    • Favorites (shows channels you have added to your favorites list)
    • Trending (shows currently trending popular programs)
    • Movies
    • Sports
    • Kids
  3. Use the arrow buttons to select a program/channel and press OK

The All ChannelsFree To MeHD Channels and Favorites views display the grid guide with just the channels included in the filter.

This is currently the only way to view your Favorites. We are always looking to make improvements to the channel guide and we would love any feedback you have! You are welcome to submit feedback using the following link, https://comca.st/3DF4KDa.

There is no need to send PMs.  This is something that has plagued xfinity for years. There is no way for the channel guide to show only your favorite channels.  I do not know how many times this question has been asked, but it has been asked many, many times.  The best answer anyone will get from xfinity is 'we are looking into it and hopefully include it in a future update'.  They have been saying that for at least 7 years that I am aware of.

@NoNoBadPuppy thanks for the info.  Hopefully that is not the answer, it would really be ridiculous if that was not possible :(

Thanks for the info @XfinityJeniece  I have to say that is it surprising and disappointing.  I don't really want to go to the guide each time I want to switch channels.  This is a pretty basic functionality so I am really puzzled how this is not available.  Again, on DirectTV you can do this in 2 seconds.  having to go to the guide each time is just too painful.

I guess there has not been an improvement to this for many years.  ... one year contract will be the only year. :( @NoNoBadPuppy you're unfortunately right about this.
