Can I remove search feature when entering in a channel number

Was forcefully required to upgrade to X1 from a Motorola set top box, and now the interface has added extra steps to do basic actions. Which is now making it difficult for older family members to use.

When you enter in a channel number. Say 802. It brings up a search window on the right. You then have to scroll down and select the channel you want to go to. How do I remove this 'feature' so that when you enter in a channel number it goes directly to the channel number entered? And skips the extra steps with the search function?

@eqrunner Thank you for reaching out on the Xfinity Community Forums. The feature you are asking to be turned off or remove is not something we are able to alter. You do have access to the voice feature on the remote that will take you to the channels. Also, when you type the channel number in and hit the center button in the middle it should take you to the channel you typed in.

After entering the channel number, we just press OK which changes the channel.  Never used the search result.  Not much of a feature.
