@mustardj Thank you for reaching out on our Xfinity Community Forums. I would be happy to look further into this remote concern with you. May I ask what model remote you have? You can see the model number on the back of the remote, sometimes it is in the battery compartment.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the remote needs to be paired to the TV again. Can you give that a try for me and see if that helps. Here are the instructions below.

To use your XR15 remote to control your TV (including power, volume and input):

  1. While the TV is on, press and hold the xfinity and Mute buttons on the remote together for five seconds until the remote light at the top changes from red to green.
  2. Enter the first five-digit code listed for the TV manufacturer. As the code is entered, the remote light will blink on each digit entered.
    • Valid code = remote light blinks green twice
    • Invalid code = remote blinks red, then green
  3. Aim the remote at the TV and press the Power button.
    • If the TV turns off, turn the TV back on and verify that the Volume and Mute buttons work.
    • If the TV doesn't turn off, repeat this process with the next TV manufacturer device code.
      • Note: If none of the device codes operate the TV, find a code that works for your TV.

@mustardj, thank you for your question. You would first want to visit  https://comca.st/3x00tGX to see if your remote supports your TV, audio receiver, or sound bar. If your remote does support your devices, there you will also find instructions on how to set up your remote control.

I no longer work for Comcast.
