Bad LIVE 4k Quality Thursday Night Football

Yesterdays, Thursday Night Football broadcast had very bad 4k quality.  All my settings have adjusted for 4k.  The picture quality was dull.  The HD version of the picture quality was fine but when i tuned into 4k it was so dull.  The tennessee titals baby blue color looked almost grey!

-When I watch on demand 4k the quality is great.

-When I watch a live 4k broadcast through the third party app (quality is great)

-The colors are normal when i watch a live non 4k broadcast

-Only happens when I tried to stream Thursday Night Football live

I made sure my settings were at the max Xfinity > Settings > Display > 4k Max

Made sure my brightness was good.

Using hdmi cable that came with the box.

-Anyone else experiencing this ?

Only watching 4k broadcast for a couple weeks but they do seem darker then then the reg HD channel bradcast. Thur night did seem really dark on 4K.  The Penn state game earlier today was bettter. The USC game on now (11/14/20) seems much better as brightness is around the HD bradcast channel. I can't say if it is a network, comcast or my TV thing.

I have the same exact complaint. I was excited to see the game was available in 4K then immediately disappointed. It’s a dark, dull, and gloomy picture.

  • @Aaronreidnj I noticed the Fox HDR 4K broadcast are have been like that all fall. The earlier ABC games in UHD 4K were great. I know HDR is darker to make colors better but not dull like the Fox games. The Pac 12 championship is on tonight so may be the same. I used the dynamic setting on my Samsung and looked better but never had to do that elsewhere on HDR shows.

Has anyone come up with a solution for this? I watched the PAC12 game last night and it was horribly dull. Very disappointed in color. I’ve noticed the same thing as far as movies vs live sports.

Hello all, and thanks for posting to share your feedback regarding the 4K quality during the Thursday NIght football games. I was able to do some research and found ou only certain weeks/games will be broadcasted in 4K. For more information, follow this link. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope this helps!
