Apple TV third party app on xfinity TV

Apple TV app constantly buffers and freezes. No issues over wifi on other devices when using the Apple TV app. This only happens on our TV with the embedded app. 
We were watching an MLS game and it buffered so much it was 8 minutes behind the actual game but it happens with all shows. We have up and ended watching the rest of the game on my phone with zero issues.

@user_5d501e Hi there! Thank you for letting us know about this. Does this happen on the Apple TV app via the X1 app, or via your Roku or Fire TV device?

Same problem here. New Xfinity box to access Apple TV freezes despite trying a variety of fixes. Other streaming channels seem to work fine.

Hello, @user_4bc0f8 have you tried focusing on the distance between your modem (or router) to see if that improves your connection?

Same thing here.  Other apps work fine.  Or internet speeds are very fast but watching Appletv+ via xfinity box buffers often.
