On demand does not resume program

Every time I pause or exit a program on demand, it does not resume at the correct spot. It automatically restarts the program. Is there a workaround for this issue?

Hello! How’s it going today? Thanks for posting this to our Xfintiy Forums to get help with your OnDemand features. I have three kids and plenty of distractions so sometimes I need to pause something and watch it later. I can certainly understand why you would like to resume the show where you left off.

Does the show start over right when you pause it when accessing OnDemand or does it restart after a certain time period?

The show starts from the beginning when pressing play.

That’s strange! It should resume the same as if you pause live TV. There’s really not a setting for that I can offer here. Instead, we would want to troubleshoot this. Are you seeing this on the actual cable box or through the Xfintiy Stream app? Is it all programs or only some that this happens?

I’m seeing it through the cable box. It seems to happen when I want to watch programs that aired the day before. So it doesn’t give me the opportunity to fast forward if it starts over after pausing it.

Have you attempted to reboot your box by unplugging it, waiting about 20 seconds, and plugging it back in?

No I haven’t. I’ll try that.

We do recommend ensuring the box has the latest update and performing a reset on the box to ensure the communication with our network is provisioned correctly. Is this happening on all shows or only select ones?

Happens to me every single time.  I have to start playing it again, do something else until it gets back to the stopping point. Infuriating

Same thing always happens to me. It is ridiculously annoying when I am watching something where Fast Forward is disabled. Even if I had 10 minutes left of an episode, I now have to watch the previous 50 minutes to get back to where I was. This has been happening for years and Comcast acts as if they have never heard of this problem before.
