The XR2 remotes do not have an HD Zoom button. You can manage your resolution settings either through the TV (please reference your manufacturers guide) or on the cable box:
@XfinityBrie again why would Comcast get rid of HD Zoom? If I use the remote from my other RNG 150 box it works. So the capability is still there. Are you going to answer this or not
Somehow while using my X2R remote through a Cisco RNG150N box, TV picture inadvertently zoomed/stretched. Could not return to normal picture with X2R remote. Luckily, had older remote and used “enter” button to toggle through picture sizes to reset to normal. This is VERY frustrating/unacceptable! For the outrageous price we pay, we expect better “non-buggy” equipment/service!
@sma4 this happened to me today and I’m going crazy trying to get it back to normal size. I called XFINITY support and they said it is the TV not cable box but this is bs. The tv is set to normal so I know it is the box. Any other ideas!? I don’t have an old remote.
Well I was able to get HD zoom on my xr2 remote and I have a rng150n cable box. You have to program it into the XR2 remote. Hope my steps below help someone.
I used the D button to perform the zoom.
First hit the exit button to start fresh.
Next press and hold the setup button (bottom left on remote).
Wait till you get a green light on top
Next enter 994
Next press and release setup button again
Next enter 51397
Next press the D button
If the steps worked the the led on top of the remote will blink green twice and then you should be able to have the zoom option available. If you get a red and then a green blink then the code 51397 did not work.
@user_5d4bde I had the same problem and couldn't stand watching sports without seeing the score. One minute my channels were working fine and the next minute everything was over-zoomed - both HD and SD channels. For me, it started around mid-Nov 2021. Other TV sources like Roku and Blueray worked fine so I knew the zoom was happening on the cable box and not my TV. I scoured the internet for hours and your solution to program the D button to toggle HD zoom from the cable box was the only thing that worked. THANK YOU!!
