Will there ever be an Xfinity app for Apple TV????

As is typical of comcast, they keep promising and promising they are developing an app that can be used on Apple TV for Xfinity Streaming but as of February 2020 still no word, still no result, still more empty promises.

This is the last time I ask this question and I would appreciate an honest answer from Comcast.  Will there be an xfinity app that works on the Apple TV platform?  And if so, exactly when do you expect it will be launched?

My xfinity contract ends December 2020.  If there is no Apple TV app by then, it's good bye comcast hello HULU.  Xfinity pulled this same delay tactic with their app on a 2010 smart tv I had where theyk kept promising the app was being developed and would be out soon.  Guess what, still have that old samsung TV in a guest bedroom and guess what? Still no xfinity app 10 years later.  I expect this will be the same with their Apple TV app as well, empty promises that will never be delivered upon.

At the rate their loosing subscribers, the only English word they'll need to teach their service center in India is "cancel".

There’s never been a promise to add anything. There’s never been talk of adding anything to Apple TV. Who knows what will happen in the future but present day nothing has been announced

The solution to you not developing a solution for Apple TV is simple I guess.  It's called HULU or Sling.  My contract is up in December.  I'm done with xfinity because of this.

I already switched to YouTube TV but I would seriously consider coming back to Xfinity IF they had an app for Apple TV (and ideally built into other platforms like the LG TV app store). I just don't want to have Xfinity boxes plugged into all of my TVs - especially as a number of them are wall mounted with Apple TV's mounted behind the TVs.

This is clearly a strategic decision as they already have a great app for iOS so it would take very little to make that available on Apple TV. I don't know if it's the case that they want to keep making money from renting the desktop boxes or if they feel they lose control if their customers are watching Xfinity services through other providers but this isn't a question of technical challenges, it's a business decision to simply not support factoring Xfinity boxes out of homes.

It's a shame because there is a lot to like about Xfinity and YouTube is hardly cheap BUT the YouTube TV app is available on all of my devices, everything is available for me to watch out of home and unlimited DVR. The only negative on YouTube TV is lack of downloads/offline viewing - which Xfinity has on iOS. So why not just release an Apple TV app so you can compete with youTube TV, Hulu etc.?
