Tv remote app and non X1

While using the Xfinity TV remote app on my iPad and looking at the listings, I've accidentally discovered that I can set a recording remotely.  This feature was taken away from non-X1 legacy box users probably 2 years ago and now it's back.  It's rare that some capability is restored by Comcast once taken away.  Is there a place on the website that alerts customers when some positive feature has made a comeback?  There are others I would welcome.
