The time on the TV box is 1 - 2 minutes faster than the programming.

Hello Comcast team,

I know the time on my box is sent from the central system and I cannot adjust it. The time has always been 1 - 2 minutes faster than the programming. For example, if the box shows 8:00pm then I would expect to see the next program starting. However, I see either the end of the previous program or advertising between the programs. The next program starts at 8:01 or even 8:02. I always have to extend the DVR recording time by one or two minutes or else the ending may be cut off. It has been this way for years and I am not the only one with this problem. My family and work friends are the same. We all show the same time so the problem is not a time zone issue. I do not have X1 but friends at work do have X1 so the problem is not the type of system used. I called customer service years ago to report this and they rebooted my box because they did not understand. I moved almost two years ago and it still does it. I added a second box and that does it. It is not an equipment issue but a programming issue. I am tired of setting all recordings to add 1 - 2 minutes. Any ideas?

Thank you,

That’s the individual networks that are responsible for program starting times. Change to an X1 dvr, recording time before and after is automatic
