Some HD channels have bad pixalization

I have xfinity using a cable card and tivo roamio pro. Lately some HD channels have bad pixilzation while others do not. The worst are when sports are playing. Right now channel 703 is showing NFL game and it is horriable to watch. All the ESPN channels are bad also. MLB games are difficult to watch. I've checked all my connections are tight and restated all my devices.

My Tivo shows signal strength of around 92-97 and SNR of 36-39 depending on the channel. The tivo also shows very high RS uncorrected errors on the problem channels.

I have a Tivo Roamio Pro and no other cable boxes. I do have a cable modem that is working fine.

Right now most of my HD channels are around 97 signal strength and 39 SNR

The ESPN HD channels are around 91 signal strength and 36 SNR

This is what I've seen since I've started having the problem. These  values are still the same as before.

What has changed, as of right now, is the RS Uncorrected and RS Corrected numbers are not moving at all on the HD channels that were pixilized. When the pixilazation was happening the RS uncorrected and RS corrected numbers would be climbing rapidly.

Same here,  I restarted my TiVo (power cycle) and it greatly improved the pixelation issue. However, I still see an occasional glitch tonight—the sports channels.

Hi all, thank you for reaching out here on our community forums.  I understand the frustration pixelation brings when enjoying a show, and would like to help.  Do you all have other cable boxes and if so experiencing pixelation on those as well?

Thank you

Customer support by telephone was good but unable to correct the situation at their end.  They arrainged for a technician to visit the next day.

The technician replaced some old connectors and installedl an amplifier.  We have a long run from the junction box to our house.   In addition, there was a crew working on the lines in my neighborhood this week.  I do not know if the problem was a weak signal to my house or a network issue but the system is working well for me at the moment.

Very satisfied with Xfinity customer support in resolving this issue.

The pixalization has been going on for some time. I only have the Tivo Roamio Pro, no other cable boxes. It started on HD sports channels but then some of the local HD channels started the pixalization. Oddly after I posted here about my problem, the pixilization has stopped. Nothing has changed on my end. I did not want to post that my problem had gone away until some time has pasted so that I am sure it really is gone.

For now all is good, I'll post back if the problem reappears.

Thank you for response.

Fingers crossed the problem is gone.

If you get a chance . . . what do the signal strength, SNR, and RS corrected/uncorrected numbers look like now?
