screen menu in bright yellow

I have a non X1 cable box and when I use the menu for viewing shows on stations, a bright yellow hue is shown.  It is so blaring, I need sunglasses to look at it.

It used to be a pale yellow, but with some update, it changed.

Can I tone it down or does a tech have to do it.

Thank you.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally change a TV setting and put it in 'Vivid' mode?

If you are talking about a legacy box with iGuide, you can go into the settings and change the color scheme. One of them may work better.

If it's a little DTA with the simple interface, then it's hard to say. I notice nothing different on one TV that has a DTA.

The RNG is a legacy box that runs iGuide.

I think this is Comcast trying to push more users to X1. Due to the way iGuide boxes get their data, it makes it hard to impossible to implement what is called a 'mid-split' to expand upstream data capacity for Internet. At some point, they will probably disable iGuide.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity forums! Just to clarify, when you say you are using the menu, do you mean the guide itself?

Highlighted areas are within the guide.  When I tab to a station and then the show, it appears in bright yellow.

It used to be pale yellow and now its too bright.

Anyway to make it less bright?  I tried using menu setup, but it only adjusts the back ground color.

I have a non x1 cable box RNG150 on a Samsung tv, not a legacy box.  This problem is with the menu not the TV its self.

Example:  hit menu, favorite heart is surrounded by bright yellow, list 1 heading is bright yellow.  Then open favorite channels, tab to a station and hit the show, appears in bright yellow.

This has never happened before.

Sorry I didn't know the correct name.  I have a gray remote with menu button and a guide button, but they both show the stations and shows available.

These buttons do not solve my problem.

Mine is doing the same thing, the highlight of the active wording in the menu has changed from a lighter yellow/orange to a bright lime yellow that is driving me crazy, it hurts my eyes… just changed today.

@aircraft8976

Glad to know I am not the only one!  Thanks for the picture of the offensive yellow.

Probably won't do anything to correct it...but my rates went up!!

Guess I’ll change it to sky blue so it doesn’t stand out so much, I just like the darker colors.

@aircraft8976 maybe they did a change  but it doesn't seem as blinding yellow at it did 2 months ago...or maybe I got use to it.

I have a DCX3400 DVR and two DCX3200 boxes. The last firmware software on them was A28 for several years. Last night the boxes were down for over an hour. Today I noticed a few changes, the Highlighted Yellow is Much Brighter, and the text/font size of program listings (also in DVR Schedule and Recordings) is a smaller text. I checked the software and it now shows A32 (Main Menu, Setup, Cable Box Setup, Configuration/Select to display).

S/W Ver: A32.2103.r-2 (98.42)

This is a new March 2021 software.

Several years ago, there was a thread, now gone I guess, about the DCX software, and ComcastTeds said that A32 got cancelled because they were focusing on X1.

I guess they decided to push it out.

I'm not sure if there are any "fixes" over the A28, but like I said, the Yellow Highlight is too bright, and the program name text is smaller. On my 43" plasma it's not a big deal, but on the 32" bedroom tvs, the text size was better before being larger.
