I've seen many posts on how to turn off captions on a show by show basis.  How can I turn off captions permanently so I don't have to do it for every show that I watch ?

@XfinityAlyssaA

This tells me how to set captions on and off on my X1 cable box.  My question was "How do I turn off captions off permanently on Peacock, so that I don't have to turn them off on every movie"

@user_c2fd3a Our apologies! Have you tried to download the Peacock app on a mobile device and try to adjust the settings there? I know there isn't a general settings page via the streaming service through a cable box.

@user_c2fd3a Thanks for trying that out! So it looks like the subtitles will have to be adjusted based on the program. Sorry for the hassle with this!

I think that I might have posted my answer to the wrong post (sorry if this is a double post)  Anyway, I got this email from Peacock Support:

Can you please try unplugging your Xfinity device from the power source and unplug your internet router for at least 60 seconds? After performing these troubleshooting steps, please launch the content you wish to watch on Peacock. To turn off Subtitles, press the pause button on your remote and this should bring up a navigation bar. Please make sure the navigation bar is selected and scroll to the left to the Text Bubble icon. Then please select Off.

After that the focus is in the > button.  Click the < button twice to get to the text bubble, click on the text bubble  and it will Subtitles, select NONE and the subtitles will not be shown.  I've already tested this solution with several movies and it worked just fine.  Hope it works for everyone else.
