older DTA

I need to order an additional TV adapter / box.  I previously had what they used to cal a DTA (less expensive than a full fledged box).  I only need to receive HD stations.  I do NOT need any premium channels, or on demand.  Just the TV stations. DOES COMCAST STILL OFFER A DTA?

They may still offer DTA's, but they now cost the same as a full box. The only reason to use a DTA would be if you don't have room for a full box.

Hi, thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Forums. I understand you need an additional box. Do you currently have an account with Xfinity?

Hi, thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Forums. I understand you need an additional box. Do you currently have an account with Xfinity? Yes, we do have smaller cable boxes for additional outlets.

I no longer work for Comcast.

That's a great question @sandy100090. We can still issue those old style DTA boxes, but we no longer offer a discount on them. The price will be the same as the newer boxes monthly. I have ordered them for customers that have TV's that do not support HDMI (not very common anymore).

What you might consider is using the Xfinity Stream App for that TV. You can pick up a compatible device fairly inexpensive (Roku/Firestick/Chromecast) and install the Xfinity Stream App. This would save you the monthly cost of renting a box altogether. I do this for my kids TV's. This article will provide you additional information https://comca.st/3P3DYc6 .

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thanks.  question; Can I purchase my OWN box and activate it with Comcast (my account)?

If I CAN.... what would be the monthly charge..... for access if I provide my OWN box?

thanks again

The DTA boxes are not for sell, we on only provide the lease option.
