Nobody knows how to send a pairing signal to Tivo
I had to send my TiVo in for repair. By the time I got it back, my cable card was no longer active. I need someone at Comcast to send it a pairing signal. There used to be a dedicated team for this, but Comcast disbanded it. After an hour in chat, I managed to get a representative to schedule a live agent to call me. After an hour on the phone with that agent, I managed to get her to get a supervisor to call me. The supervisor managed to direct me to https://cablecardactivation.xsp.comcast.net/. At that site, I was able to enter my account number and phone number. With that information, the site was able to identify the active cable card associated with my account. On the next screen, I selected that cable card and entered the "Data" field from the pairing screen on the TiVo. That led to the message:
We're sorry - an error has occurred.
Your CableCARD was not paired with your device.
Please try again or contact the CableCARD activation support line at 1-877-405-2298.
No matter how many times I tried, it is the same result.
The phone number is the old phone number to the dedicated team. I found no way to even reach a live human at that number.
I have seen similar posts in the forum with people who had the exact same issue - and eventually got it resolved.
Please help!!
