New DVR box is way too slow

Installed new DVR box (non X1) that has been updating the menu for 5 days and is still running. It responds very slowly when entering channel numbers and often does not receive all 3 digits from the remote. The little white double arrow symbol is constantly blinking. Sometimes the DVR displays “PRC3”. Running “Scanning Your System” through online account results in “500 Error”. This new DVR/ Remote is basically unusable.

Hi @user_d3117f, sorry to hear that your DVR is having such trouble! Have you already checked the connections to and from the box and are any of the lines bent or kinked?

Depending on the box, I think that symbol means it is trying to establish an upstream signal.

I was able to get the DVR running by disconnecting the power cord for a few minutes and then reconnecting. The upstream communication problem sounds like it could make sense. I am worried that the technician and I were not able to reset the DVR remotely, as if some communication link is missing.
