Melting CoAx

My son has Xfinity in his apartment.  Had  TV and Internet for the last year.  At one point the coax cable over heated and melted, burning the rug.  Eventually the tech came and replaced the cable, but it's happened again ... right after he cancelled the TV (keeping the internet).

Why is this happening!?

You should consult with a local low voltage electrician about this. Many times this turns out to be a problem with the premise's neutral leg A.C. power wiring.

Hello, @user_073259That is very concerning. I am sorry to hear this has happened again. This may require an electrician, but I would like to dive deeper into this. Please send us a DM.

You can send me a DM by following these directions:

To send a direct message you may need to:

Click "Sign In"

Click the "direct message" icon

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

Sounds familiar...

@user_073259

This can't be fixed remotely by Comcast. It takes a *boots on the ground* intervention. Good luck with it !
