Loud audio hum when comcast box is connected.

I have a hi-end sound system integrated with my entertainment system. When the cable for Comcast/Xfinity is connected to the system it causes a very noticeable hum/buzzing sound from the amplifiers. I have two set-top boxes and they both do it. Just touching the ground from the coax connector to the system causes this. All my equipment is bonded to a central point as well as all my amateur radio equipment. My guess is Comcast has a poor ground and is trying to get a better path through my system. If I put in a ground loop isolator in line with the coax the noise is gone but the signal becomes intermittent as well. I have had techs come out however they always blame my equipment as I suspect they have no idea how to properly diagnose the situation. Any suggestions out there? Thanks...

Exact same issue....techs blame my audio equipment...no issues with Fios...

My answer (but not a real resolution with xffinity) is to use xfinity stream to all tvs.. relies only on good internet signal and no box is needed...unfortunatly you lose the talkie remote...but it is a work around...PS...took cable from street pole directly to cable set top box for diagnose...same issue, so that eliminated any interior wiring issues...set top box can be unplugged and as you said, just need to touch ground (or outer shield of connector) to box and i have the harmonic distortion....no answers yet, but still have my Fios installed and 20 more days to return equip and cancel...will see!

I have this issue with the new 4K set top box. Really bad frequency constant buzzing noise. Have to disconnect the power to sleep. Some folks can’t hear this frequency though. Did you resolve your issue somehow?

If you get a good quality coaxial ground loop isolator and you have a decent signal that may reduce the noise.
