HDHomeRun pixalation & audio issues on certain channels only
I switched to Xfinity a few months ago and been having a issue with at least 3 known channels with the HDHomeRun Prime. The three channels in question are local national affiliates channels. Originally I would see pixalation when the HDHomeRun drop below 75% on Signal Quality on the channels in question. A tech came out, removed an unneed splitter, redid and water proofed the connections at the house and at the drop. Signal Strength went up and we had no issues for a day. After a day issues came back again, same 3 channels.
After the tech came, I have noticed the HDHomeRun is returning higher Signal Strength (-3.x to -0,x) which is probably just the removed splitter. We PVR everything so it hard to get the actually HDHR stats on recordings that had issues (ranging from occassion pixelation and audio hichups to unwatchable to failed recording).
The problem appears to occurring mostly during prime time. This is gong to seem odd, but when the issue is interminent, the the bad recorded times of the show are between 23-30 and 53-60 minutes on the hour.
|Signal Strength||99% (-0.9 dBmV)||98 (-1.3 dBmV)||100% (-0.3 dBmV)|
|Signal Quality||96% (34.5 dB)||93% (34.1 dB)||85% (33.0 dB)|
The third channel stats baffles me as everything is 100% minus Signal Quality.
I know the cable to the house is good, since it the same cable that that was used with the previous provider (self service installation) 😉 ).
Inside the house, the main cable is split between the modem and HDHR and are located next to each other.
Going to call support again, any insights to the cause of the issue would be appreaciated.
