Can older boxes like RNG200N actually output PCM mode audio?

I finally found the "Audio Mode" menu for the older RNG200N boxes:

But changing audio mode to L-PCM still doesn't allow my "digital to analog audio converter" to work (the clicking sound of the RAW mode persists).

Any ideas why?
