CableCard - New Channels not Showing Up
Hello:
I recently upgraded my service to get 1Gbs internet service and additional channels (HBO, Showtime). I asked the tech to not deliver the X1 box as I am using a cablecard. He only ensured the connections were good for the upgraded internet service and said everything else should be taken care of.
Currently, I am able to get the faster internet speeds but I do not see the new channels. I have rebooted the cablecard and also rescanned the channels. All the old channels work fine.
Is there anything special that needs to be done?
Thank you for your time!

Troubleshooting steps for CableCard devices are specific to the device. You might try a search like "[devicename] CableCard troubleshooting". Ex: https://www.google.com/search?q=tivo+cablecard+troubleshooting.

Thanks, Bruce.
I did a search and found some articles (I am using a SiliconDust Prime). Nothing has helped thus far. Most are geared towards setting up a new card. I found a link to activate a card (that also allows reactivating) - cablecardactivation.xsp.comcast.net but that gave me an error when I try to reactivate. It did find the card that is already on my account.
As a note, I should have been more clear in my original note. The CableCard has been working fine for years and there are no errors in the log. The only issue is that the new channels (HBO, etc.) are not showing up.
I did not want to call support because of the long wait times but may have to do that soon. I am not sure if the CableCard line is being monitored these days but will find out.

Did you ever get this fixed? I just upgraded my service and lost all of the channels off of my CableCARD that I use with my HDHomeRun Prime.

Hello:
In my case it just started working after a day or so. I did not have to do anything specific. The difference in my case was that I did not lose any of the existing channels, only the new ones weren't showing up. They eventually showed up but HBO and other encrypted channels only work via the SiliconDust app, not through Plex etc.
Did you try to re-activate the cable card by going to the URL in my last post?
Regards,
Zubair

The image you posted isn't visible. It looks like this:
It's probably because the image requires moderator approval. That might take some time, from a few hours to a day or so. Alternatively, you could upload the image to a file sharing site and post a link to it here, or post text instead of an image.

Hi, jonathan404. Sorry to hear you lost the channels during the upgrade. I am not sure if you have worked with any of our support teams on this yet, but do you know if any pairing or activation signals have been sent to your cable card?
