Cablecard dead - Need help activating replacement

Hello. After coming back from vacation, I was seeing a V58 error message on the Tivo stating the Tivo was not authorized anymore to decode the channels and the Pairing information from the card was no longer showing on the pairing screen.

A few years ago having the same issue, I spoke to Cablecard Tier 3 support which told me the batteries on the cablecard die and the whole card needs to be replaced. He told me about the comcast no longer sending out any cards to new or existing customers. So he sent me 4 old new stock ones so when this happened again I could just pull the bad one and replace it with one of the old new stock he sent me. Once I installed it and re did what he did on his end a few days later, bingo it worked. We went ahead and placed a total of 5 cablecards in my account so I would have no issues activating any of the cards in the future.

Well coming back of vacation I replaced the bad card with the new one and went into the pairing website. But low a behold none of the replacement cards are no longer showing for me to activate. Comcast wiped them clean and the only card that is showing is the active one that no longer works. So I did what I could thru the chat channels and the tech had some clue about the cablecards but not enough to re-add the serial number back into the system so it could be activated. Of could per normal operations he said why no just swap the box. Uh, NO! I went with Tivo for a reason.

So if anyone in cablecard tier 3 support see's this request I have the  card serial number, Host ID and Data information ready to provide someone with some knowledge so I can get back online.

I know eventually I need to find something else or go to X1, but I'll be kicking and screaming getting there because I'm a 20+ year Tivo fan.

Please help!

Hello Glenc1965! Thanks for reaching out to us here on our Xfinity Forums for help with the cable card missing the channels. My friend is a Tivo fan as well, so I know where you are coming from with wanting to do everything possible until there is no other option besides swapping to another device. I'm sorry that you are facing this issue again, but happy that you took steps previously to help ensure you have plenty of cards available to help out.

If my memory is serving me correctly V58 was an entitlement error, which would align with the device and card not showing paired. I would love to help out and turn over every stone possible to help get this corrected.

Can you please send us a direct message with your name and service address?

We will need the card and Tivo details as well. But I have a feeling you are familiar with us asking for those details.

Let's get the cable card working again!

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon
In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support"
As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to send it.
