cable box that doesn't require an internet connection?
not realizing that the X1 boxes need internet access, I stupidly turned in the old boxes.
I'm not changing routers or the basic network config to give the main cable box permanent internet access.
so, when I go bring the X1 boxes back, which boxes should I ask for? if there's no other option then there's no sense paying for an unusable service.

Hi there @user_6f7e10 depending on your type of plan you may be able to return the primary box and have these charges removed from the plan. Most of the time we will need to repackage to a similar plan with that option. Additional boxes are available for return without it affecting your plan.
If your plan is eligible you can substitute your primary box for streaming only through Stream Beta app. Or if you have smart TVs/devices you can stream instead of using the additional boxes.
If you would rather stay with the boxes you previously had you can go into a store and request these and the representative will be able to see what boxes you need. We can also place an order here online just send us a private message with your full name and service address to get started.
"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:
See https://comca.st/2XfS9FQ for an example.

Update: went into the office today and they only had a main box and none of the small boxes - those are being shipped.
currently waiting to see if this main box (RNG-150N) will actually work - it's been on the screen that says "one moment please" on channel 884 and nothing has changed. currently not working after waiting more than an hour.
further update: it's now working properly.
