Setting up personal hotspot on iphone 13 ios 18.3.1

How do you set up a personal hotspot for an iPhone 13, ios 18.3.1.  I access personal hotspot by going to settings/cellular.  There is a link "Set Up Personal Hotspot".  When I tap it, it opens an xfinity mobile web site support link.  There is no specific information for setting up a personal hotspot.

I have searched for the information using Xfinity online support services.  The info I can find does not match what I am seeing on my phone.  The information about setting up a hotspot assumes you have an option to turn on the option and enter a password.  That is not what I see.  Same thing with my wife's iphone 13.

We are brand new to xifinity having switched from Verizon.  Setting up a hotspot on Verizaon was automatic.

Hey @user_gdhhht, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out regarding the activation of the personal hotspot feature on your Xfinity Mobile Apple iPhone 13. These following steps should help provide guidance for activating the feature.

-> Go to the Home screen. Choose Settings.
-> Scroll down. Choose Personal Hotspot.
-> Choose Wi-Fi Password.
-> Under Password, enter a password (at least 8 characters). Choose Done.
-> Turn on Allow Others to Join.
-> If this screen appears, choose Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If this screen does not appear, go to the next step.
-> The Apple iPhone 13 has now been configured for use as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Return to the Home screen.

Please also note that sending unsolicited private messages to myself or any other user is a direct violation of our forum guidelines. You must first create a Public post requesting assistance, and once a Comcast verified employee responds and asks for a private message to be sent, you can then proceed with doing so. We recommend reviewing our Getting Started in the Xfinity Help & Support Forum, Xfinity Forum Guidelines, and our Xfinity Forum Acceptable Use Policy for more information.

If the personal hotspot feature does not activate, do you happen to know what data plan you are currently subscribed to and what generational plan?

Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately, my whole point is that when I go to settings I don't see "Personal Hotspot". with an option to choose wi-fi password.  I see a link labeled "set up personal hotspot" that takes me to the xfinity website knowledgebase that provides the same info you sent.  I am in do loop never able to perform the steps outlined in your response.

I went to a Xfinity store to get help and learned that as a prepaid customer I needed to "addon" the personal hotspot function for another $5 per month.  I have that order in and am waiting for it to activate.  Then hopefully I will be able to do the standard set up.

Thank you for reaching back out and providing an update @user_gdhhht. It sounds like you have our NOW Mobile service which is our prepaid cellular service that we offer. You do not subscribe to our Xfinity Mobile services.

With the NOW Mobile services, additional services such as the Mexico and Canada Unlimited Pass would be $5.00 per month as well as the Personal Hotspot which would be $5.00 a month. With NOW Mobile, the Personal Hotspot would provide unlimited data at 3G speeds.

You can learn more about our NOW Mobile services by visiting the following pages:

-> NOW Mobile overview
-> NOW Mobile FAQs

I did sign us up for the hotspot service for NOW Mobile.  One phone now has the hotspot function working.  ONe phone does not.  At visit to an Xfinity store I was told I need to activate or add a feature to that phone - [Edited: "Personal Information"].  There was an open ticket on that but we've since closed it with the idea of moving to the regular Xfinity mobile service.  That has not been accomplished yet because it cannot be done until the ticket has been closed.

If you know how to activate the "feature" I am still open to staying with the NOW program.  Might be good to know that both phones in question are identical purchased at the same time - iphone 13s running 18.3.1 ios.  The transition from Verizon to Xfinity has been a terrible experience and knowing what I know now I would not have done it.

Thank you for following up, @user_gdhhht. How long ago did you submit the ticket on the second phone? Have you tried reaching out to the Xfinity Assistant to see if the hotspot can be added or the NOW Service converted over to traditional Xfinity Mobile service?
