Problem with voice service on newly activated Gateway XB8
I have the same problem as the others below. Yesterday I activated an XB8 Gateway router and it works fine for internet and TV but all my landline phones have no dial tone. I plugged one of them into the phone port in the Gateway, and I got a dial tone. How do I activate the voice service? I have an iPhone 8 and its iOS will not accept the latest xfinity app, so that is no help to me.

Hello @w_howard, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity Forums, I hope you are having a good day. I am very sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the landline phones. As a parent with younger kids I rely on my landline for them to be able to use in case of emergency, so I can understand the frustration when you aren't getting a dial tone after a modem swap. You mentioned that when you plugged a line directly into the back of the modem you were able to get a dial tone. With the setup you had with the old modem, were the landline phones plugged into the phone jacks in the wall?
