no dial tone after new gateway
Was shipped a new gateway, I installed it exactly the same way as the previous one, and followed the instructions, but I have no dial tone on the landline phone.
I have a plain old telephone plugged directly into the modem. Known good phone and cable assembly, as they were working fine on the previous gateway.
I try to use the xfinity app or AI, but I just get caught in a death loop. I se no obvious access to classical tech support.
I have gone through this swap process multiple times, but this is the first time I lost phone service.
Is Comcast making a change and recommending VOIP phones?

I am having exact same issue. Can't find any support. AI responses are worthless and there is no ability to talk to anyone. Depressing!
