You click on the "circle face" and on Profile, not Settings.

In Settings do you have an Avatars tab between Preferences and Tagging? Mine looks like so:

  No I couldn't see anything  Avatars - not like where you showed, I even clicked on all the titles, and Nothing in the sub links showed Avatars... ☹️

Thank you for posting your question. We sincerely apologize for the confusion. Adding a personalized Avatar image in the Xfinity Forum is a privilege you earn once you reach the level of "New Poster" here in the Xfinity Forum. It looks like when you hit that level the old permission that blocked this ability never automatically removed. I have since corrected this and you should now see that feature in your profile settings. 

Please let us know if you have any questions or need anything further.

  Thank you... I now see the Avatar  name... I clicked it...  and the dropdown shows listings of different name types, Animals/Toys etc... when I click any of them, they are all the round black/white generic one... so I uploaded a photo of my own.  when I clicked save, my photo did not show up in the preview to the right of the resize box... I clicked save but my photo is not in the box.  Still the generic photo...   

Any suggestions ?

I now see what you show in your photo... thanks to you & ComcastJessie...

when I click in the list (tried all of them)  only the last 1 show anything. the

Animals, Toys + the rest are all the circle black/white generic person... so 

I uploaded my photo, it showed up... then when I saved and went to where

you can resize, my photo does not appear in "preview" to the right of the

resize box... I tried save on it... but it was just the generic black/white circle

photo still there...   Any other suggestions... I have been on these forums

with an account since 2007 and I have chosen an Xfinity photo before.

In the upper right corner of the Forum page click on your avatar, then on My profile.  On your profile page click on your avatar and you should see this:

From there, click on Choose another avatar.

You should get this box:

Everything should be self-explanatory from there, but if you need more help beyond this, please post back.

I uploaded a photo of mine,  and see it in the box and clicked SAVE -  it then went to the resize page (first photo you  put in your post  for resizing) But my photo I chose/saved is not showing there.. I cannot resize - pic not in the resize box - not  in preview.. so I can't save it to be my profile pic....  I only see my chosen photo when I first upload it... then I save. 

  when I check the drop down for Xfinity Avatars, the group names ( Animals, Toys etc) are there, but when I click on any of the names, there aren't any Avatars, just the Generic black/white circle one.     Thank you for your help... and the photo you posted  to see the

Try a smaller photo, or resize the photo you're trying to upload.

LONG ago the Forum avatars changed from the specific ones to the generic ones and everyone is assigned the one you have when they first sign up for the Forums.  We weren't happy about that, but we also had no voice in it.

Again, I sincerely apologize, any image that is uploaded to our Xfinity Forum requires formal approval by our moderators. I have approved all the images that you have uploaded. They are now ready to be used to update your forum avatar image. 

When in your profile settings, navigate to the "Avatar" tab. Under the "Current Avatar" image you will see the option to "Upload an Avatar", click that option. Since you have already uploaded your images, when you click that option click the tab "From My Albums"

Then click the image from your uploaded images that you would like to use as your forum avatar. From here you will be directed to a new page to crop your image to fit our Avatar size. Once you are satisfied with how the image is cropped, choose "Save and Continue". From there you will need to repeat the crop process for message "thumbnail" images. Once you are again satisfied click the "Save" option and you are now complete.
