Hate Yahoo! It is not user friendly, I thought it would get better as I familiar with the app. I'm getting over 60 emails that are for just shopping or buying something. Why should I pay $5 more a month to get rid of ads. Comcast I'm so disappointed in the change. I've been with you for over 30 years. Why can't the people who want to stay with Comcast can stay. Others may want to change to Yahoo. We had no say in changing platforms.

Xfinity... Yahoo email is terrible. You need to make an option for disappointed customer to return to your email program. You dumping us with yahoo email and giving us no option to return is completely unacceptable!

[Edited: "Inflammatory"] I want Xfinity/[Edited: "Inflammatory"] to give me back my email service without having to go through all that 3rd party [Edited: "Profanity"] and using another browser service! For the monthly internet fee I pay, I should have my email service the way I like it! "Straight up with no advertising crapola!"

@user_4ofi07  We are very sorry that you are not having a good experience with the Yahoo email. Once the switch has been made there is not a way to go back.

The Switch was done with no announcement. The Switch was a forced action without asking for my consent. There was no procedure to allow xfinity/comcast customers to continue to use only xfinity email services if I did not switch to yahoo messenger. Now I get bombed constantly by yahoo messenger spam. And do not say well you can always move to another 3rd party email service or chance your browser, etc. I hope a new IP provider moves into my area that does not pull this bullying behavior.

agreed, the app is awful to use, asks to pay for upgrade, conversations are grouped together and emails seem to get lost.  This is awful.

@TerriB

You should be able to keep using the client for now.  Just be advised that even if you don't voluntarily do the migration to Yahoo, at some as yet undetermined time down the road, the Comcast email WILL be closed down permanently.  We just don't know exactly when yet.

@Latoque I know I sound like a broken record but.....I keep asking this......I use Comcast webmail sometimes but mostly use MS Office Outlook 2016. If I do not move to Yahoo is there a way to use Outlook 2016 as my email client as I do today  and  KEEP my comcast.net address or is the only way to keep comcast.net email address is to move to Yahoo?

I keep seeing posts about using another email client rather than Yahoo so thats why I keep asking if moving to Yahoo is the ONLY way to retain comcast.net address. Thanks

Sadly Terri, we just don't know. The company's statements have been so confusing and inconsistent that it's tempting to believe that they themselves don't know what they are going to do, or when they are going to do it. If they had any sense, they'd roll back this whole thing and forget the idea. But, of course, that would require having sense . . .

The only thing we can be sure of is that they will do whatever they believe is the most profitable, no matter how loud their customers scream. It's the Comcast/Xfinity Way!

Thanks Bruce, It is such a disaster already in so many ways that I am sure I can't count on being able to use my comcast.net addy UNLESS I fall on my sword and migrate. I am terrified to even do that at this point.

Did they really think this move was going to be acceptable and smooth? I have read so many things that got totally hosed up already. There are so many negative comments/pushbacks on here so can you imagine how many comments and complaints are NOT on here?

UPDATE......I found this.....do you believe it?

Using Your Comcast Email in Outlook 2016 Without Migrating to Yahoo

Yes — you can keep your Comcast email address in Outlook 2016 without switching to Yahoo. Comcast supports standard IMAP/SMTP protocols, so you can configure Outlook manually to connect securely.

Recommended Setup (IMAP for Multi‑Device Access)

IMAP is the better choice if you use your email on multiple devices, as it keeps your mail and folders synced across all devices Xfinity+1.

Incoming (IMAP) Server Settings

  • Server name: imap.comcast.net (or imap.comcastbiz.net if you have a Comcast business email) Microsoft Learn+1
  • Port: 993

  • Encryption: SSL (or STARTTLS if your client supports it)

Outgoing (SMTP) Server Settings

  • Server name: smtp.comcast.net (or smtp.comcastbiz.net for business email) Microsoft Learn+1

  • Port: 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL)

  • Encryption: TLS (or SSL if TLS isn’t an option)

Authentication

  • User name: Your full Comcast email address

  • Password: Your Comcast email password

How to Configure in Outlook 2016

  1. Open Outlook 2016 and go to File > Add Account.

  2. On the Auto Account Setup page, choose Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.

  3. On the Choose a service page, select IMAP and click Next.

  4. Enter your name, Comcast email address, and password.

  5. For Incoming mail server, enter the IMAP server and port above.

  6. For Outgoing mail server (SMTP), enter the SMTP server and port above.

  7. Click More Settings → Outgoing Server tab → check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

  8. On the Advanced tab, set the IMAP/SMTP ports and encryption as above.

  9. Click OK, then Next, and finally Finish.

  10. Test the account settings and verify they pass Microsoft Learn+1.

... UPDATE......I found this.....do you believe it? ...

Is that some sort of "AI Overview"? It appears to ignore the fact that employees keep posting Comcast/Xfinity is getting out of the email business, perhaps as soon as year-end.
