random folders went missing in Thunderbird

A few months ago, I set up Thunderbird to handle my email (I have more than 1 address). A couple Comcast email folders did not transfer to Thunderbird.

Hey @Marlene41, thanks for reaching out to Xfinity Support on our forums. Do the folders still show when you log into the email website instead of Thunderbird? Also, have you tried exporting your email and moving them that way?

@XfinityNicolas

Yes, all folders & content are “live” when I log into Xfinity on the website. The folders in question are under "my folders."

In Thunderbird, the folders seem like random broken links because they are in italics, there is no content, & I can't move email into them (because they don't "exist.")

For ex: On Xfinity website -

   Folder: "product"s has mail, as do its subfolders.

In Thunderbird:

Folder: "products" - is in italics and contains no mail;

Subfolder: 15-21 – regular type, contains email. (other subfolders also contain mail.)

Also on Thunderbird:

Folder: SAM" - in italics, contains nothing;

     Subfolder "Convention" in italics, contains nothing:

          Sub-subfolder: "Invitations IBM Pres" - live folder, contains email.

All those folders in Xfinity contain mail.

Exporting email? How/why would I export some email & not other emails? & how would I export an email to a broken folder link (since it doesn't really "exist.")

I hope you can help.

Thanks!
Marlene41

Thank you for clarifying. Are you using POP or IMAP for your incoming mail server (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-account-configuration)?

IMAP

By the way - your first message appeared in my inbox, but not the 2nd. So I guess I have to come to this site if I want to communicate with you. That's why it took me a couple of days.
