New/Upcoming Switch to Yahoo email

With the switch to Yahoo Mail per https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/yahoo-email-migration-overview

Does anyone know what will be the new IMAP and SMTP server settings?

Needed for third party email clients.

I also gather that Xfinity web mail will no longer be available after the switch.

Thus, we will have to access emails through the Yahoo web portal.

If you cancel Xfinity will you still be able access one's email as per https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-email-only.

But, substituting Xfinity web mail for Yahoo web mail.

Just wanting to get a heads up.

I do hope Yahoo mail has a better spam filter than what it was many years ago.

The servers should probably be the standard Yahoo mail ones:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

  • Server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port - 993
  • Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

  • Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port - 465 or 587
  • Requires SSL - Yes
  • Requires authentication - Yes

Your login info

  • Email address - Your full email address (name@domain.com)
  • Password - Generate App Password
  • Requires authentication - Yes

POP settings for Yahoo Mail

Incoming Mail (POP) Server

  • Server - pop.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port - 995
  • Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

  • Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Port - 465 or 587
  • Requires SSL - Yes
  • Requires TLS - Yes (if available)
  • Requires authentication - Yes

Your login info

  • Email address - Your full email address (name@domain.com)
  • Password - Generate App Password
  • Requires authentication - Yes

Do you know if it was an official email from Xfinity [with the XF logo]?  If it didn't have the verified logo, deleting it was okay.

You see this only in webmail.  Email apps like Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc do not show that logo.

Greetings, @loganbigdog! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about your email account migration. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

There should actually be a series of emails, text notifications, and Xfinity app push notifications related to your email account migration. Did you receive the very first notification, telling you your account would be moving to Yahoo soon, or did you receive the follow-up email asking you to approve Yahoo's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy within the next 30 days? You can find more details about the migration process on our support site here:

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/yahoo-email-migration-overview

If your account has already migrated, you should be able to accept the Yahoo terms when you sign in at login.yahoo.com with your Comcast.net email address for the first time. If your migration is still pending, you will receive another email once the migration process has begun.

The email(s) received were very suspicious. Weird characters in the title and no official comcast/xfinity header or footer.  My husband received multiple emails, I haven't received anything about this migration.  Poor communication from a communication company :-(

The migration is rolling out so it may be you haven't gotten the email yet.  Watch for it in webmail.

As long as you have an @comcast.net email address you should be able to migrate it to Yahoo! Mail.

Hi,

I think I said no to the migration on accident, how do I fix this? One of my emails has migrated over to yahoo.  Help please as I don't want to lose all of my stuff from my Xfinity email?

    Thank you, Jerry
