Emails aren't sent or received - emails moved to outbox - open emails to see what's wrong
Since 2:07 am today, my Comcast emails aren't being sent or received on my android Galaxy S series. I tried to send a test message to my own email address. It gets moved to my outbox with the message: "Couldn't send." I select the email that didn't send and it says: "Couldn't authenticate...the password or authentication method may be incorrect. Check your outgoing server settings, then try again." I then selected: "Settings" and it brings up the "Server settings" screen. I don't know what the fields should be, but haven't changed anything to my phone or settings or done a phone update. I did a soft and hard restart (pushed the down volume and power button together until restarted), but still not working. I can send and receive emails if I go directly to Comcast's email site. Help.

Same issue for the last 2 days. Tried the Xfinity email app(new) and it couldn't connect to the server. Also tried setting up my Xfinity account in the Gmail app with the same issue. I can get my email if I go to the website from my phone, which is not ideal.

Also want to add that I'm having the same issue so this gets attention to get fixed. I can remove or clear cache and get it to sync but then the new sync only lasts for ten minutes then stalls out. Will be eager to hear of resolution.

I set up the outlook app on my phone today and that seems to have fixed it. Doesn't fix the Samsung email issue but at least I have a way to get my email

I too am having the same problem on my Galaxy S22. I have deleted and readded my comcast email account. When you reload it the field for password is there. When the problem happens again, which is ongoing, the password field is missing. This seems to be the issue and why it can't authenticate the email. Definitely a Comcast issue as other emails are fine.

Every comment is Samsung related. Why isn't Samsung on top of this by now? How frustrating!
The Xfinity app has ads and doesn't seem secure. I won't install it.

Problem solved. Forget using the Samsung email app. Use the Gmail app. Works perfectly for me; I hope for others, as well.
