EMAIL SEARCH NOT WORKING

The email search function is not working properly. When I search for emails, it only goes back to 12/10/24 nothing before. Is there a fix for this? I saw a previous thread where Xfinity employees were assisting with this. Can someone reach out to help?

Hi there, @user_bu7xuv! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum! Are you trying to search email via the web portal at connect.xfinity.com or via an email app?

@user_bu7xuv, thanks for confirming. We don't have any listed problems with this feature right now, and I gave it a try with my personal account for some real-time testing, and I am able to search for items with no issues. I get results from way, way back. It is also working to search via keyword in subject and mail text in all folders. Have you tried clearing the cache and cookies on your browser? That generally fixes most issues.

I am having the same problem.  I tried to get some help from Xfinity Support on X.  So far (10 hours into the process) no luck.  Xfinity Support suggested I try a different browser (which I did, and it didn't solve the problem), that I clear the cache and cookies and history, and then reboot (done, no luck), that I am saving my spam messages in a separate folder (I am), that I check my settings to ensure that there is no forwarding and no automatic deletion (done, no luck), that I'm accessing my email via the Xfinity website (which I am).  They also asked me to check if I have the same problem on another device (I do, on my phone).  Now they have started to ask me the same questions again, so that I'm going in circles.  This is clearly a recurring problem at Xfinity -- there are many, many complaints on this forum about the email search function not working.

I am unable to access my secondary email accounts.  This is the account I use for my children's school and I can't get email or reset the password.  Please help.  It has been over 2 weeks and I am missing critical information

@user_6ytu7o

Exactly how are you trying to search?  What are you typing into the search field, and are you searching All Folders or just one specific one?

I am searching my Inbox by the email address of the sender.  It has worked for years. Now it can’t find emails before April 2025 even though I can see the emails if I scroll down.

@user_bu7xuv Just to confirm, the emails aren't missing but will not come up if searched by the email address, correct? What happens if you search the subject of the email, does it come up that way?

@user_6ytu7o

Have you first tried sorting by sender and then searching for the email you're looking for?

@XfinityQuemekia  searching by subjected doesn’t work any better on my phone than searching by sender’s email, but the search function on the phone has always been worse than the one on my laptop. I’m away from my laptop at the moment, but will check when I get back to it on Monday night.

@user_6ytu7o I will set a reminder to check in with you Monday night when you can try on the laptop. If it still has issues then we can dig a little deeper into the account to figure this out. This link will also have some tips to make sure the search is looking in the right folders.

I'm having the EXACT same problem that started on the EXACT same date.  See forum post https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/email-search-will-not-return-emails-older-than-12102024/680966fe17cd5b0824a81e9a
