e-mail safe list

I received instruction from Comcast on how to add to my e-mail safe list. I followed the instruction and received an error: Please enter a valid email address. Why am I getting this error?

The note says All other emails will be filtered out and not delivered. Does that really mean that I won't get any other e-mails?

Hello @user_6423da Thanks for the screenshot it helps! Let's work together to resolve this. Can you give it a try without the @symbol at the beginning the email address?

I actually tried that before posting and it didn't work either.

@user_6423da  I'm sorry you're still seeing an error. I purchased some tires a while back from Schwab. I had a great experience. Can you meet me us back in the live chat message for more help.

... Why am I getting this error? ...

Safe List only accepts complete email "From:" addresses. You can't enter partial address like the email domain in your example.

... The note says All other emails will be filtered out and not delivered. Does that really mean that I won't get any other e-mails?

Correct. When "Safe List" is active email from addresses not on the list will be rejected. You'll never see them. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-connect-safe-list.

If you are trying to keep selected emails from going to the Spam folder, see https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/how-to-prevent-email-from-going-to-the-spam-folder/602dafffc5375f08cd1ec7b9.

Thanks for the feedback. The reason I tried to setup a safe list was that I had stopped getting some daily e-mails from Charles Schwab. Some days I would get them, other days not. Have received these e-mails without a problem for years, problem cropped up a few weeks ago. I reached out to Schwab and here's the feedback they gave me. Initial help from Comcast said to use safelist but from your feedback that's not going to solve this problem if it blocks all other email. Could help with this.

Thank you for reaching out to Charles Schwab eServices. I am happy to assist with your follow up question regarding the email error codes.
In this case, your email cant be accepted because the receiving mail server is temporarily overwhelmed with delivery attempts. The delivery status for this email returned the following information from your Internet Service Provider: Bounce Code: 3004 // Status Details: Server Too Busy.

To help resolve this, please connect with Comcast and ask them to "Whitelist" the following email domains for Charles Schwab:
@mail.schwab.com
@service.schwab.com
@alerts.schwab.com
@subscription.schwab.com

@user_6423da I believe that was a temporary issue from a month or so ago.  It was unrelated to either the sender or the recipient, and it's unfortunately that Schwab has determined to use that bounce notice to stop sending you messages.  You should be able to re-subscribe to their services with the same email, and it should work again.

I've never seen that code and don't know what it means. Maybe @XfinityAlex or @XfinityDaveL can help.

I included the entire email address and now I do not receive any email including email from my safe list. Why?

@user_pc7lw1 The "Safe  List" means you will *only* receive messages from senders in your Safe List.  Are you sure that's what you want?

To the "Safe List" I added 33 email addresses, none of them (except my families personal emails) are being received. Could it be because some of the email addresses I added to the "Safe List" are from a company such as Sportsman Warehouse, Cornell University, my real estate agent, California Fastrak, etc?

This is ridiculous. I am not receiving any email from my safe list. Furthermore, I added over 10 email addresses to my safe list this morning and when my account refreshed, none of these added email addresses appeared on my safe list. The safe list does not work and might be buggy. Xfinity needs to fix this.

@user_pc7lw1

Add Email Addresses to Your Email Safe List in Xfinity Email - Xfinity Support

Again, I doubt you want to use the Safe List.  Please read the page above, and please understand you will *only* receive emails from the email addresses in your safe list.

@user_bo03jn This applies to you as well.
