If you are a new customer you won't have a comcast.net email, just an XfinityID.  Otherwise:

I don't understand the new mail. I signed up for the new mail so If an email is sent to my comcast.net account will it be sent to my yahoo mail?

Unfortunately you can't.  Tell me what you don't like about Yahoo! Mail and I might have a couple of solutions for you.
