comcast.net email transition to Yahoo - timeline

I have received a notification e-mail from Xfinity regarding the transition of Comcast.net email accounts from the Xfinity Email platform to the Yahoo Mail. The e-mail notification was received on Aust 27th, stating that "In about 30 days, you’ll receive another email that will prompt you to sign into xfinityconnect.email.comcast.net to accept Yahoo’s terms of service and complete your move to the Yahoo Mail platform. " It has been exactly 1 month, and I haven't received any emails from Xfinity/Comcast prompting me to initiate the transition. So, my questions are:

a) when will I receive this e-mail? is it really 30 days, give or take a couple of days, or should I start calling support asking for this e-mail or any other instructions/prompts to initiate the transition?

b) I have three e-mails with comcast.net; so - will each of these e-mail accounts receive the same prompt to initiate the transition, or is one prompt sufficient?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I received my initial email on July 29.  About 60 days later, when logging into my email through webmail, I received the screen prompt pictured below. There was no follow-up email. The screen appeared with each login until I "upgraded." My address book did not appear until more than 24 hours later.

Thank you @rightfooted ! I will keep logging into my email through webmail, every couple of days, until I see this message. Hopefully I will get it, sooner or later.

Just to update the community - I haven't received any additional notifications/invitations on any of my comcast.net e-mail accounts (2 months after the initial e-mail announcing the transition).

However, I yesterday I have logged into my webmail account (I have been doing this regularly every couple of days), and was prompted to migrate to Yahoo

The migration was quick and straightforward. Accessing my e-mail (all three accounts) on Yahoo servers via web browser was fairly easy. Configuring (re-configuring) my e-mail clients on two PCs and 3 mobile devices has been a bit painful but mostly worked well (I used IMAP to configure the clients; IMAP port 993 is fine, SMTP port has to be 587 or 465 depending on the nature of the client). Two accounts are fully migrated, one is still having a few syncing quirks, which I hope to resolve today.

Overall, I don't think I'm very fond of the Yahoo e-mail (structure, folders, syncing, etc.), and am missing my Xfinity e-mail, but this is a subject for another discussion on another forum.

I am extremely grateful to the community for all the help and support! Thank you all for your responses and advice.

Best Regards to All!

@GVZ 👏👏👏👏👏

Congrats on the migration!  I agree that Yahoo! Mail is not the prettiest or the greatest unless you upgrade.  It's pretty basic <cough> to say the least.  Once upon a time it was pretty robust, before Time Warner got hold of it.  I primarily use Gmail, but need my comcast email for notifications from here.

But, you made it!  🙂

I have received a notification e-mail from Xfinity regarding the transition of Comcast.net email accounts from the Xfinity Email platform to the Yahoo Mail. The e-mail notification was received on August 27th, stating that "In about 30 days, you’ll receive another email that will prompt you to sign into xfinity connect.email.comcast.net to accept Yahoo’s terms of service and complete your move to the Yahoo Mail platform.

If you received the official email with the verified logo, when seen in webmail, it should be around 30 days ±, when you will get the email to transition.  [See below for more information.]

b) I have three e-mails with comcast.net; so - will each of these e-mail accounts receive the same prompt to initiate the transition, or is one prompt sufficient?  Each account will receive their own email regarding transition.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

All good questions!  Here is more information.

The official verified logo will look like this.  It will be next to the official Xfinity email:

Here is more information for you.

Here is information regarding the transition to Yahoo! Mail:

And, from the Yahoo! page:

@Again Thank you for the response! It has been just over 30 days, and I still haven't received the e-mail for transition.

I will wait a few more days and then will have to contact Xfinity/Comcast support.

Thanks again for your help!

I still haven't received the Xfinity e-mail for transition to Yahoo and to accept Yahoo’s terms of service. It has been well over a month since I've received the initial e-mail notification stating that this transition e-mail would arrive within 30 days. Is there a way to contact Xfinity / Comcast support (phone or DM) to find out the status? I tried, but am getting to automated responses that lead me nowhere. Can someone help? Thanks!

When you got that initial email, did you verify it on webmail or was this through a 3rd party email app?

Hello @Again The message was on both - I received in on my Outlook client, and also I verified it using webmail. It came on Aust 27th. Today is October 2nd, and I still have not received the actual invitation to accept the Yahoo terms of service and start the transition.

So, did the email have the verified logo next to it?  Do you still have it?

Hi, @GVZ! If you try to log in to the web based mail right now, do you get any prompt for the transition?

Hello- I have a similar notice.  Link took me to MEDIUM login page.  Sure looks like Phishing.   We need some plain and simple info from Comcast.

Just to keep the community informed. I was able to reach a live person from Xfinity / Comcast support over the phone (a minor miracle and a lot of effort on my side). After a few attempts and a couple of transfers I was able to discuss this issue with the e-mail support person - very professional and knowledgeable gentlemen. He confirmed that the initial e-mail I received was from Xfinity, walked me through the same steps - logout and login back to my web e-mail client, etc. In the end, he suggested there may be a delay in the migration implementation, and I should keep waiting until I get the e-mail from Xfinity prompting me to sign in to accept Yahoo’s terms.

In the end, I still have the same problem. I will wait a little bit more, and will call again. Meanwhile, I will start looking for a different e-mail provider.

Hey, GVZ, if necessary we'll grab you by the hand and pull you through the fog and help you find that second email.  😉  We won't leave you behind.  Just keep an eye on webmail for that XF logo next to your email and we'll whisk you away to Yahoo land.  And I give you permission to send me a DM here to let me know that you're bouncing down Yahoo lane with emails trailing behind.

Basically, we're staying with you on this and hoping that that second email comes through soon.  Hang in, you're not forgotten!

Thank you, @Again ! I will definitely keep you and the community informed. For now, I'm still waiting for this second e-mail and plan to call Xfinity again in a couple of weeks if doesn't show in my inbox.
