Can’t send outgoing email

Hi. I can’t send emails. I need to send a email and it says my password and/or user name is incorrect. It’s not! What’s going on?

How are you accessing your email?  Are you using only the webmail UI and a browser?  Or a desktop client like Thunderbird?  A mail app on a phone?  Something else?

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_1z3hyd. If you are still having password issues with the email service the best option to resolve that is by reaching out to the customer security team at the https://spa.xfinity.com/ site.

I've had the same/similar issue.  Trying to send an email fails most of the time, but sometimes will go through.  After braving the automated/AI sentries at Comcast, I finally got through to tech support and they said there was some odd security setting on my account that they cleared.  Changed internet providers, now getting the same issue again.  IMPOSSIBLE to get through, and when I did finally get through, she somehow DISCONNECTED ME.  Frustrating.  Hope you have better luck.

Hello @user_qs88o5, I hope you are having a great day. I understand you are having issues with your Xfinity email when trying to send an email. I can understand how frustrating that can be when you need to get a message to someone immediately. I do apologize for the inconvenience. When you are having issues sending an email, are you using the Xfinity site or are you using a third-party email client to send your emails?

@XfinityMarshante I'm using Thunderbird.  I've had the issue before, it seems the last time I had this problem, I had been flagged as a spammer or similar- but I send very few emails.  The issue is intermittent; I sent an email fine from Thunderbird the other day.

I've been having the same issue for weeks. Cannot send comcast email most of the time. I often get a message that the SMTP has had too many authentication attempts. I'm using Thunderbird on a PC, Mail app on Iphone 14+. I've reconfigured everything from scratch multiple times on both devices. No Change.

I can pretty reliably receive emails. Responding to them and creating new emails will not send.

Hey @user_i925al, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding the Xfinity Email service. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you.

As a first step, are you able to log in to your Xfinity Email through our Xfinity Connect online web portal? If so, can you create a new email and send it to yourself to ensure the email is in the Sent folder as well as the Inbox.

If the email is able to be successfully sent an received, would you be able to fully delete your email profile within Thunderbird and create a new profile? We do recommend not editing the profile and completely removing and starting a new profile to ensure no other settings may be causing issues. The port settings can be found by visiting our 'Set up your Xfinity Email address with an email program' support page.

Please give this a try and let us know what you find. We hope to hear from you soon.
