Why am I not receiving notifications from any of my home security cameras or door bell?

Why am I still not receiving notifications from any of my home security cameras or door bells?

We have contacted tech support and have already tried ALL the following:

Re-Register App Push Tokens (Most Effective Fix)

When notifications silently stop working for months, the connection between the Xfinity server and your phone's push notification service is usually broken.

  • Open the Xfinity App.

  • Navigate to the Security / Home tab.

  • Select your video doorbell or exterior camera, then tap the Gear / Settings icon.

  • Toggle all notification switches OFF (Doorbell Ring, Motion, People).

  • Force-close the Xfinity app, reopen it, and toggle the notifications back ON. (This forces Xfinity to create a fresh notification token for your device.)

Perform a Full App Reset

  • Log out of the Xfinity App completely.

  • Uninstall the app from your phone.

  • Restart your phone.

  • Reinstall the Xfinity App from the App Store / Google Play Store and log back in.

  • When prompted, make sure to grant full permission for Notifications and Background App Refresh.

Check Phone System Permissions

  • iOS: Go to Settings > Notifications > Xfinity $\rightarrow$ Ensure Allow Notifications, Sounds, and Badges are enabled.

  • Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Xfinity > Notifications $\rightarrow$ Ensure all notification channels are allowed and not set to "Silent" or restricted by battery saver modes.

Power Cycle the Hardware

A camera or doorbell can maintain live stream connectivity while its motion-triggering background service hangs.

  • Camera: In the Xfinity app, go to Camera Settings > Restart Camera. Alternatively, unplug the power adapter for 30 seconds.

  • Video Doorbell: Restart it via the app, or briefly turn off the circuit breaker powering your doorbell transformer for 1 minute.
