Unable to turn on Bridge Mode

Hi,

I'm having the same issue.

When I enable Admin Tools through my Xfinity app and then ethernet directly into my Xfinity gateway with my laptop, open up a web browser and type in 10.0.0.1, I get a screen nearly identical to this image from the Xfinity guide on how to enable bridge mode

Except where my screen says "Bridge mode:" right after the colon, there is no enable/disable toggle button. It's completely blank. I noticed this was also the case maybe about 2 weeks ago.

Hello @user_mo59br, thank you for your comment. Sorry you’re running into this, especially after following the guide step‑by‑step and still not seeing the Bridge Mode toggle. Can you share the gateway model (e.g., XB6/XB7/XB8) that you have?

I have an XB6 in my home.

@user_mo59br, do you have active Xfinity Wi-Fi extenders in the home? If so, you won't be able to enable bridge mode. Do you have advanced security enabled on the Xfinity gateway?

Same issue here,,,xfinity have no solution on this? Its a plague on most devices now after updating

This was also the case on my outgoing XB8, as of the latest firmware.

That is great to hear @user_ahnxzh, thank you for sharing your fix.

This fix has not worked for XB6's. I unplugged and replugged my gateway, reset it thru the app, disabled advanced security, have no wifi extenders, am plugged directly into my gateway via ethernet patch cable to my laptop, still no toggle switch present for my XB6.

if the fix is recently "pushed out" I'm assuming there's not manual step that I need to take on my end to update software or firmware for my gateway?

Thanks for letting me know @user_mo59br. I was able to see that some modems are still having the issue. If I come across an update on how this is being rolled out, I'll make sure to update this thread.

Update: I tried to do a full factory-reset as other have said helped them instead of a soft reset thru the app or unplugging and plugging the gateway to cycle the power. Now I can't even log into the admin tool using "admin" for user and the default password printed on the bottom of the gateway as the password. I now get the popup saying "username or password incorrect!"

Looking at factory reset guides on xfinity's website, I don't think a factory reset should change the login for my gateway's admin tools... what is happening here?

@user_mo59br A factory reset should reset the modem login as well. If it's not the old admin/password it should be the default username/password that's located on the sticker that's on the modem.

@XfinityMichaelC​ The Bridge Mode section is still empty on my XB7 gateway.  Any update about the fix?  Can I enter a service request for this issue?

My phone is connected directly to the router. When I had this issue on the past, I had to change internet providers and i did not have that issue.  You mentioned "Contacting your ISP If you have a modem/router combo provided by us, these settings are sometimes hidden. We may be able to take a closer look at your account on our end." I tried called and whoever i spoke to had NO idea what i was saying... this has been the most frustrating issue to resolve with xfinity, to the point that i am looking to cancel my account. :( Who can i contact that can actually walk me through this? Thanks!! 

Good afternoon user_c73566 you could certainly give the factory reset a try. I have seen some members post that has resolved this for them. If you do try, please let us know if it is successful or not. 

I have the same issue right now for XB8. Uninstalled the xfinity mobile app, and it can't be reinstalled. The http://10.0.0.1 only shows a message to downdown the app and doesn't pvoide anyway to configure the gateway. I am stuck :(

Hi there, @user_bd73qe! Have you tried a factory reset as was mentioned in the previous responses? Directions for your convenience:

To factory reset an XB8 gateway, locate the small reset button (often the WPS button) on the back and hold it down for 30 seconds while it is powered on. The device will reboot, indicated by flashing lights, and restore all settings to default, requiring you to use the default Wi-Fi name/password on the label.
